According to a report from Corriere dello Sport a modernised San Siro will bring greater possibilities for revenues, especially under a joint management between Inter and Milan despite the overall capacity of the ground decreasing.
By December there will be a meeting with the Milan city council and news from that meeting could result in a green light for the stadium project.
The basis for the 99-year deal is there, and everything was made possible due to the new AC Milan management who unblocked things regarding working together with Inter and the Milan council. The goal, which is not that overestimated, is to double the revenues of Juventus and what they earn through their Allianz Stadium.
“San Siro could lower its capacity to 60,000, eliminating the third ring and replace that with a hospitality area, including completely renovated sky boxes. That is where both Inter’s and Milan’s revenues will come from, and with a stadium area open seven days a week, there is the opportunity to earn double the revenues that Juventus do. There are talks about revenues around €100 million per year for both clubs.”
Today it is difficult to think of a solution where a completely new stadium is built, the best solution seems to be renovating San Siro and turning it into a real treasure.
