What does the real Ivan Perisic play like? With the Croatian national team, Ivan is always one of the brightest stars while with Inter he looks to be hiding in the shadows. Even at the start of the season, Perisic has been inconsistent, showing moments of brilliance and moments of disappointment. Spalletti is hoping that this break will bring the best version of Ivan back to Inter.
“A year ago, after 12 Serie A matches, Perisic already had 4 goals, 5 assists, and had created 29 chances. Right now he is still at 2 goals, 2 assists, and 19 created chances. Not only that, but his dip in form is even evident in the number of touches he’s taken inside the box (72 as compared to 57) and his ability to shoot the ball on target (40% as compared to 36%). We have not seen the real Perisic this year. Not even in the Champions League, where he is yet to score a goal and his performances have been forgettable.
