It is undeniable that Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa has played a significant role for Santos this year while he has been on loan with him and the percentage of the total goals that belong to him perhaps best showcase this.

As per a report from Globoesporte, the striker has been responsible for a very impressive 41.4% of the goals that they have scored in the league.

In 33 league outings since his January transfer window arrival, Gabigol has very much lived up to his nickname scoring 17 goals in that time.

It remains to be seen how the Peixe will set out to replace the goals they will be losing once the Brazilian youngster’s loan comes to an end on December 31.

Recent reports seem to suggest that it is nigh on impossible for the 22-year-old to stay past the expiration of his loan due to Santos having to fork out roughly €20 million to take him on a permanent basis, something they cannot afford to do.
