Radja Nainggolan remains hopeful of recovering from injury in time to feature in Inter’s clash with Frosinone this weekend, according to Sky Sport.

Nainggolan sustained an ankle problem in a collision with Lucas Biglia during last month’s Derby della Madonnina and was forced to spend two weeks on the sidelines, returning to score in the Nerazzurri’s 5-0 win over Genoa on 4 November.

The Belgian’s issue then flared up again and saw him miss the defeat to Atalanta before the international break, but as Saturday’s match at San Siro approaches he is nearing a complete recovery.

Having spent the last few days working apart Nainggolan trained with the rest of the first-team on Tuesday, who were put through their paces both in the gym and out on the pitch, and is hopeful of at least making the match-day squad.

Inter will face consecutive away matches against Tottenham, Roma and Juventus after this weekend and Nainggolan’s return to fitness would thus represent a big boost for Luciano Spalletti.
