Joao Mario is set to start for reigning European Champions Portugal tonight in their final UEFA Nations League game at home to Poland.

Portugal have already secured their place in the final four of the inaugural edition of the tournament and as a result manager Fernando Santos is prepared to make wholesale changes to the side who drew with Italy on Saturday.

Central defender Ruben Dias is expected to be the only player who will keep his place in the team for the match at the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques, the home of Portuguese top flight club Vitória de Guimarães which is scheduled for a 20:45 CET kick-off.

Inter’s midfielder, who been in fine form recently, was forced to watch on from the bench at San Siro but will be given the chance to impress tonight alongside the likes of EURO 2016 hero Eder, former European Golden Boy Renato Sanches and veteran defender Pepe.
