Marotta Reaches Agreement With Inter

Former Juventus executive Beppe Marotta should return from China tonight after having very fruitful talks with Inter president Steven Zhang and owner Jindong Zhang according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The meeting, that was also attended by Ren Jun (Zhang Sr’s right hand man), member of the Inter board of directors, yielded only positive results. There was a complete agreement found over a €1.5 million annual salary (plus bonuses) and future projects were drawn up and all that now remains is for him to be officially announced.

Marotta will join an established and stable staff, as opposed to when he arrived at Juventus who had finished in 7th place under Ferrara-Zaccheroni. Del Neri was replaced by Conte and then a complete revolution took place in the following transfer market, something that should not be repeated at Inter who already have a core set of players.

Inter would like to add quality and charisma to the roster. The goal, is to be at the top, something that could be partly achieved as Inter could be in the last 16 of the Champions League next month.

Finances, infrastructure, branding and marketing were all other things that were spoken about during the meeting.
