Inter’s head of youth Roberto Samaden has spoken on why Inter’s youngsters have experienced great success in recent years.

“In spite of the changes at the club, those who took over the club have always believed in it. Sometimes corporate changes require you to start from scratch, we were lucky because Inter made us work continuously. We have an extraordinary group of coaches, it is essential to put the boys in the hands of the right people not only from the technical point of view but also from the human point of view.

“Successes come when you’re not aiming for it. We do not ask for our coaches to win but to train the boys and make them grow up in a serene environment, successes come as a result of that. The fact it has lasted many years means that we work well, but in Italy there are many beautiful academies like Fiorentina that has a very prolific youth sector.

“We have to believe in young people, maybe risk a little more because when the boys go on the field they show they can play at high levels.”
