Sevilla have denied reports that they are interested in signing Inter centre-back Miranda next summer.

Miranda’s current contract with the Nerazzurri expires in 2020 and is unlikely to be extended as things stand, with the Brazilian now having to share his place in Luciano Spalletti’s starting XI with new arrival Stefan de Vrij.

Several clubs have been linked with a move for the 34 year-old, but Alejandro Perez, who works for Sevilla as a scout, told calciomercato.com on Tuesday that the Andalusian outfit are currently looking elsewhere.

“We’ve read that Miranda’s name has been linked to our club but I would like to deny these reports,” he said.

“He’s not a player who forms part of our plans going forward so I can deny all interest or contacts with him.

“Sevilla are a very active club when it comes to scouting and researching players – we follow pretty much everyone.

“However you always need to evaluate whether the economic requests of the clubs that own the players correspond with our own ideas.”
