Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli had no desire to comment on Beppe Marotta’s imminent arrival at Inter when questioned by reporters on Tuesday.

Marotta is expected to be officially unveiled as the Nerazzurri’s new chief executive officer soon and flew to China last weekend to speak with club owners Suning, in order to discuss their plans for the coming years.

However Agnelli, whom some sources in Italy have suggested fell out with the 61 year-old over the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer, did not wish to discuss his ex-employee when asked about Marotta during a joint UEFA-ECA press conference held in Brussels on Tuesday.

“This is an important day for European football and I think we need to focus on other matters,” he told Sport Mediaset.

“Let’s leave all domestic issues for a future date – there will be time to answer questions about Italian football in other places.”

Juventus will face Inter in the first Derby d’Italia of the season on 7 December and Marotta could be in attendance for his new club.
