There are increasing rumours from England, according to Tuttosport, that underline Chelsea’s desire to buy Milan Skriniar in the January transfer window.

Chelsea want Skriniar, the Turin based newspaper reports, but so far there is nothing new, in the sense that the London club is certainly not the first, nor will it be the last club to show an interest in the Slovakian defender, in his second season with Inter.

The unexpected problem is that Maurizio Sarri would immediately want him in London, taking advantage of the transfer window that will open in January but in any case, no team with serious ambitions would dismantle its squad mid-season and that is no different for Inter. Obviously, these are rumours that must be taken for what they are, that is simple rumours. One cannot imagine Suning intending to give away their best defender mid-season.

From England, however, they are sure that Chelsea’s offer of €80 million will catch Inter’s eye. For some time the player’s agent and Inter have been talking about a possible contract extension, not so much because the expiration is near, but because the player has a salary no longer in line with his current performance levels.

The €1.5 Million he earns was a suitable amount for the 21-year-old player coming from a good season with Sampdoria, but now that he is unanimously recognised as one of the strongest defenders in the world, it is right that his salary is adjusted to that of the other first team players.

He himself recently reassured the Inter fans: “No need to worry about my contract,” he said in an interview. However, the Chelsea offer from Sarri could make them reconsider. A sale similar to these figures, would put the budget in place for a long time.

Therefore, Inter denies anything: for now they refuse to admit that a similar offer has ever arrived. But they are ready to receive it and, if necessary, to evaluate it.
