Speaking in an interview Sky Sports, Juventus defender Mattia De Sciglio had nothing but praise for his clubs historical rivals, Inter who will be strengthening further with the arrival of Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta.

“For sure they (Inter) are a great team that, since last year, but especially this season, is equipped to be competitive. They are doing very well in the league and are right behind us in the standings. In the past they have always been one of the teams against which Juventus must fight every year in order to reach the Scudetto, and this season is no different.”

Rivalry with Inter is second nature for the Italian full back who grew up in the youth academy of Milan, before switching to the Bianconeri as a part of the deal which saw Leonardo Bonucci head in the opposite direction. The 26-year-old has since gone on to make 23 appearances for the Turin based club, winning one Scudetto and one Coppa Italia.
