Growing up in the youth academy of Inter, Nwankwo Obiora made his dream come true when we finally debuted for the first team in 2011. Now, the Nigerian plays for Boavista in the Portuguese league, and was interviewed by Portuguese newspaper Record in which he recalls his time with Inter.

“For a short time I was able to work with Jose Mourinho and I realised that he is a great coach. I really enjoyed that period and was able to learn many things from him. I remember him also being someone that was able to motivate the players.

“When I arrived in the dressing room, I did not talk to anyone. However, players did speak to me from time to time to help. I thought it was normal for such a young player to remain quiet, especially when confronted by players of that level. But I enjoyed every moment. The most cheerful in the locker room? For me, it was Marco Materazzi.”
