Luciano Spalletti looks set to revive the 4-3-3 tonight in the absence of Marcelo Brozovic as the 4-3-3 has become Spalletti’s alternative to his reliable 4-2-3-1.
According to Milano based Gazzetta dello Sport: “In defense we will see Danilo D’Ambrosio starting on the right following Vrsaljko’s recent injury. In midfield, Spalletti will opt to use Gagliardini, Borja Valero, and Joao Mario. Both Gagliardini and Joao Mario are not included in Inter’s Champions League squad and will use tonight’s game as a chance to boost their self confidence while their teammates rest, and this will be Borja Valero’s third start of the season, after the games against Cagliari and SPAL.
“Nainggolan worked hard during the break and could come in as a substitute to get some minutes. Keita is another player that has worked hard at Appiano and Spalletti could use him, but it is unlikely that he will be used from the first minute as Politano and Perisic are favorites to start” the Gazzetta concludes.
Here is the Gazzetta dello Sport’s predicted line up:
Inter (4-3-3): Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, De Vrij, Skriniar, Asamoah; Gagliardini, Borja Valero, Joao Mario; Politano, Martinez, Perisic.
