In today’s paper edition of the newspaper, Milano based Gazzetta dello Sport analyzed referee Luca Pairetto’s performance during last night’s game between Inter and Frosinone.

The report highlights a few of the referee’s errors, including an incident that should have seen Frosinone’s Cassata receive a second yellow: “After 7 minutes from the first whistle, Crisetig fouls Politano and is given a yellow card. During the 14th minute of play, Pairetto warns Asamoah after fouling Zampano a few steps away from the penalty area. After 26 minutes of play, the referee punishes D’Ambrosio over his tackle against Cassata by giving Frosinone a foul, which was a questionable decision.”

“In the 38th minutes, Cassata’s elbow makes contact with Lautaro Martinez, this incident was missed by the officials and the VAR. During the 40th minute, Beghetto received a yellow card for a late challenge on Politano. After 43 minutes of play, Cassata was given a yellow card for a foul on Inter’s Politano. After 2 minutes from the start of the second half, Lautaro dived for a header from Keita’s cross and hit the ball with his hand and Pairetto had to warn him. Five minutes later, the referee praised Cassata for an obvious tactical foul on Gagliardini, which would have been a second yellow for the player” the Gazzetta concludes.
