Everton are interested in signing Inter striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report from Portuguese newspaper Record.
Toffees boss Marco Silva is keen to bring him to Merseyside after the Brazilian has netted 18 league goals while on loan with Santos this year and appears to have got himself back on track.
Negotiations, as per the report, are in fact already underway between the two clubs but it is understood that Inter’s €30 million asking price could prove to be a stumbling block. As a result, the two clubs could come to an agreement over a loan move for the remainder of the season.
Gabigol joined the Nerazzurri back in 2016 amid much fanfare although he never would truly hit the heights that were expected of him. Playing time was limited in his first season at the club and he spent the first half of his second season on loan with Benfica before ending up at current loan club Santos back in January this year.
