Any day from Thursday onward could see the appointment of Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta at Inter formalised according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.
With Inter focused on the Champions League match with Tottenham Hotspur, things are on hold until they return. Club president Steven Zhang is eager to get everything over the line as soon as possible and comments from various people within the club, including vice president Javier Zanetti and sporting director Piero Ausilio, have all but confirmed that Marotta is definitely joining the club in an executive position of sorts.
Various reports in recent weeks have suggested that the former Juventus chief executive will join the Nerazzurri in a similar capacity. Marotta will split the responsibilities of the chief executive role with current chief executive Alessandro Antonello. Marotta will be in charge of all the sporting matters that the role concerns and Antonello will deal with all the administrative matters.
