Nuno Ricardo de Olivera Ribeiro, better known as Maniche is launching a book on his playing career that includes memories from his Inter days and the former Inter and Portuguese international has spoken all about it in an interview with FCInterNews.it.

“My book is called: ‘Maniche 18 – Las historias (todavía) no contadas’ (literally ‘Maniche 18 – The stories (not yet) told). Written by my friend Tiago Guadalupe. It includes a preface by José Mourinho, the final chapter by Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, and the special and exclusive entries of: André Villas Boas, Antonio Ruiz, Cristiano Ronaldo, Deco, Derlei, Duarte Gomes, Fernando Torres, Hélder Postiga, Iker Casillas, Javier Zanetti, John Terry, Sérgio Conceição, Simão Sabrosa, Vitor Bahía and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“Currently ‘Maniche 18’ is only available in Portuguese. Soon it will also be in English and I confess that I would like to see my book translated and for sale in Italy for all that I have experienced so intensely in Milan, and as I like your country and the people here.

“The book consists of 18 chapters. One of these, chaoter 14, is dedicated to Inter and my time in Italy, this is a special and very important chapter for me, which counts on the collaboration of Javier Zanetti, Marco Materazzi, Luis Figo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.”

Maniche then spoke on the modern day Inter and their credentials for both the Serie A title and the Champions League this season.

“The current Inter is clearly growing and is progressing step by step to return to triumphs as they did in the past. This year it will be difficult for the Nerazzurri to win the Serie A. Juventus are very strong and have the strongest player in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo. Inter are getting closer to the Bianconeri and I think that very soon there will be the conditions to fight on the same level with the Turin team.”

He concluded the interview by discussing Inter midfielder and compatriot Joao Mario.

“He is a young man of value, a very clever player, if Inter continue to really focus on him, if they pamper him, if they support him, I’m sure he will continue to put his skills at the service of the team and he would be an added value.”
