During his pre-match press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League encounter with Roma, Los Blancos manager Santiago Solari recalled his time in Italy with Inter.

“The best memories of my life are related to my time in Italy. I was part of an unforgettable Inter team who won three league titles in a row. It was a special period from me where I left many friends,” he said.

Having played for Inter, Solari has already experienced the venue of the game with the Giallorossi and recalled some of the memories he had playing at the Stadio Olimpico.

“I remember scoring a goal away to Lazio but I also have pleasant memories of the matches against Francesco Totti’s Roma. The Olimpico’s environment is very beautiful.”

Solari played for Inter between 2005 and 2008 and made a total of 71 appearances across all competitions during that time. The Argentine, who was recently instated as Real boss on a permanent basis following a successful period in interim charge, scored seven goals and tallied one assist for the Nerazzurri.
