One of the big battles tonight at Wembley in the penultimate group stage match of the Champions League is the one between Nerazzurri captain Mauro Icardi and Spurs captain Harry Kane.
Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport reports in today’s newspaper edition of the paper that: “Mauro is yet to conquer the big stadiums in Europe and tonight is the perfect chance for the third phase in his growth process. Successful debut in the Champions League? Done. First goal for the Argentinian national team? Done. What is missing now is an important goal in one of Europe’s biggest stadiums, a goal that could mean a lot of money and glory for Inter.”
The newspaper continues stating that”‘We want to put an end of the qualification discussion’, Mauro said after the Barcelona game. But the comparison to Kane is difficult for Mauro as Icardi scores more often in the league every 110th minute compared to Kane’s every 155th minute and has a better percentage in goals scored per chance (28 vs 16).”
“But in Europe, the tables are turned and Kane scores on every pitch he has traveled to where Icardi got stuck at Camp Noù, where Kane has not been yet but in general Kane finds the goal more often 82%)compared to Icardi 55% in Europe” the Gazzetta concludes.
