Inter needed one point to secure a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League but return home to Italy with no points after having lost the match at Wembley against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Nerazzurri’s hopes of playing Champions League football after Christmas is looking very grim after a very heavy and deserved defeat in London against Tottenham who dominated from start to finish. The Nerazzurri had chances but all in all Spurs won deservedly and will travel to play a Barcelona side at the Camp Nou that have not only qualified but also secured top spot in the group.
Inter on the other hand have to win against PSV at the San Siro five days after playing away against Juventus in the Serie A and hope that Barcelona are able to snatch a point against Tottenham.
