Inter were 10 minutes away from getting a 0-0 draw and sealing qualification from the group stage of the Champions League but because Inter are Inter, they cannot do anything the easy way. The Nerazzurri will need to beat PSV and hope that Tottenham don’t beat Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

Samir Handanovic – 5: Made all the simple saves, but went down easily in front of that Eriksen shot. Especially when he saw Brozovic trying to block the low shot.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 5.5: Shaky start but until Son came on he helped to hold onto the draw. Made a few forays forward and generally did his best in the situation.

Stefan de Vrij – 6: One of the pillars that Inter stood on until the 80th minute. Great defending, almost perfect ball movement and no major mistakes at all.

Milan Skriniar – 6.5: They call him the wall for performances like these. He was almost perfect tonight. Inter would have been 2-0, 3-0 down without him. Alien.

Kwadwo Asamoah – 6.5: Every time he plays in the Champions League,he makes it impossible to believe that Inter got him for free.Used his experience and class all game.

Matias Vecino – 5: Tactically he does the right things off the ball, but with the ball he got only 1 thing right and Borja fluffed that chance. Not sure about his role.

Marcelo Brozovic – 5.5: Moved the ball very well with Skriniar and De Vrij. Gave his everything to the team today. Partially at fault for the run that led to their goal.

Matteo Politano – 5.5: There wasn’t much to work on for Politano. He did his defensive duties perfectly, but when we have play defensive he seems ineffective.

Radja Nainggolan – 4.5: Why did Radja start? He is nowhere near any fitness or condition to play. Inter played almost an entire half with a player down. Needs to sit out longer.

Ivan Perisic – 5: After all the talk in the press conference, Interisti expected some bite but Inter never had enough of the ball in attack. Decent defensively.

Mauro Icardi – 5: Couldn’t get involved at all. Messed up the only passing move Politano created. As always he struggles without service. Did his defensive bit

Borja Valero – 7: Played only half the game, but played better than anyone in black and blue. Rolled back the years. Unstoppable. Should not be shy in the box.

Joao Miranda – N/A: Brought on to give De Vrij some respite as the Dutch central defender looked dead tired after 2 games this week. One chance on goal.

Keita Balde -N/A: Barely got a touch in but he was brought on too late to make any impact. Hopefully we see more of him against Roma on the weekend.

Luciano Spalletti – 4.5: “We are Inter and we play to win” is what he said. Inter’s game plan made sense but starting Radja didn’t. Not the best night for the manager.

Cuneyt Cakir – 6: Got most decisions right, maybe Brozovic should have been booked. Let the game flow all night. No major mistakes, always near the action.

Inter – 5: The team may have lost the battle but not the war. This result can be forgotten if they get 3 points against PSV. But overall was a shockingly poor game.

Agree? Disagree? Who do you think was Inter’s best player of the night?
