Inter suffered a heavy defeat in the penultimate group stage match of the Champions League at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley after a goal from Christian Eriksen 10 minutes from the end.
The Nerazzurri only needed one point to go through from the group going into the game but after it their qualification to the knock-out stages of the Champions League hang very much in the balance. This is so because now it is not enough for Inter to simply defeat PSV at home but the Nerazzurru also have to put their hopes on Barcelona to pull off at least draw at home against Tottenham. The Catalan side have not only secured qualification but have also secured the top spot in the group and therefore literally have nothing to play for.
