Former Inter striker Christian Vieri believes that Inter can beat Juventus in this coming Friday’s Derby D’Italia.

“There is no favourite for this game. Inter are capable of beating Juventus although it will be difficult,” he said in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Vieri, who spent six years with Inter, scoring over a century of goals in the process, then spoke on the growth of the Inter team in the past year.

“Inter are well on their way but we need to give them time. It is only Luciano Spalletti’s second year in charge but the club is doing great.”

Vieri was then asked if the current Juventus team is the best one ever given their domestic dominance in recent years.

“No, for me the Juventus team that had Marco Tardelli, Michel Platini, Claudio Gentile and Zbigniew Boniek was stronger, but of course, this one is strong too.”
