Wanda Icardi: “Mauro Plays For Inter & His Teammates Not To Win Individual Prizes”

Following her husband Mauro Icardi being crowned Serie A player of the year, Wanda Icardi spoke on his chances of winning the Balon d’Or award in the years to come.

“Mauro does not play to win individual prizes. He plays for the team and his team-mates. Should he want to win the Balon d’Or he should probably change team because how long is it since a player at Inter, Milan or Juventus has won it? It does not take a genius to understand that to win certain prizes you have to play in other clubs,” she said in an interview with television programme Tiki Taka.

Wanda then spoke on the possibility of this year’s Balon d’Or winner Luka Modric playing alongside Icardi, who she also represents as his agent.

“Modric and Icardi playing together? It would be two champions together,” she concluded.

Inter captain Icardi has been in fine form of late having gotten over his slow start. The 25-year-old currently has 11 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions.
