Centre back Stefan de Vrij has spoken on the defensive partnership he has built with Milan Skriniar this season and was full of praise for the Slovakian.

“Skriniar and I are the same as people, we are similar in character. I feel good when I am with him, and we understand each other well on the pitch. He is a strong defender and it is always nice to play with him,” the Dutchman, who joined Inter in the summer on a free transfer, said in an interview with broadcaster SportMediaset.

He then went on to speak about Inter’s chances of beating Juventus in this Friday’s Derby D’Italia, the first of the season.

“How will we stop Juventus? The defensive concepts are always the same, we will go to play. Juve are a very strong team who have already proved that strength in the league. It will be an intense match and a great challenge.”
