Former Inter defender Andrea Mandorlini has spoken ahead of tomorrow night’s Derby D’Italia.

“Playing in Turin is difficult as evidenced by the fact the Nerazzurri’s last win there is 2013. At this moment there are many difficulties, Inter is a important team but they have not found their overall balance. It is a very important game especially for Inter because in case of defeat the difference in points between themselves and the top of the table would become too many,” he said in an interview with Sky Sport 24.

Mandorlini then reflected on his time with the club between 1984-1991.

“With Trapattoni we won the UEFA Cup, the Scudetto and the Super Cup. For me he was a teacher, a father with whom I have lived many beautiful years under. He gave me a new role, setting me free behind Ferri and Bergomi, and as an Inter boy, it was nice to win with that shirt .”

He concluded the interview by returning to speak on Juventus’ Miralem Pjanic.

“Pjanic is fundamental for Juventus, at the moment he has a superior quality to Brozovic who is doing well for Inter. Inter’s difficulty lies in how to mark the Juventus director with the 4-3-3.”
