Matteo Darmian has once again admitted to missing Italy as playing time continues to be a problem for him at Manchester United this season.

“I must say, I really do miss Serie A and Italy now. I know that I am at one of the best clubs in the world and I am proud to be at Manchester United, but I do miss Italy. I love my country,” he explained in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

The full back also admitted his desire to make a return to the national team who he has represented on 36 previous occasions.

“Returning to play for Italy is my objective. Roberto Mancini has not called me up yet, but I hope he will in future.”

The 29-year-old has been limited to just three appearances across all competitions this season for the Red Devils and would appear to be considering his options for the future given his comments.
