While some have opted to make a big deal about Mauro Icardi’s presence at last night’s Copa Libertadores final, Inter have opted not to according to a report from Sport Mediaset.
His presence at the Santiago Bernabeu has been taken in a bad way by some supporters of the Nerazzurri who have questioned his commitment ahead of Inter’s crucial Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven tomorrow night.
Some reports have suggested that the 25-year-old, who is the club captain, did not seek official permission from Nerazzurri management to attend while others have.
There has been no official word from Inter whether he did seek it or not but Inter manager Luciano Spalletti dismissed the idea that is was a huge problem during his pre-match press conference.
As per the report, Icardi was back in Milan at 1am, giving him more than enough time to ready himself for the training session at 15:30.
