Inter Striker Pinamonti: “Icardi Helped Me A Lot In The First Few Months, He’s A Champion”

As part of an interview with Frosinone’s official club website, Andrea Pinamonti recalled his debut for Inter.

“When I made my debut in the Europa League I had already been training with the first team for a couple of months. The season had not been going very well and we were already out of contention to qualify. The day before the match Stefano Pioli asked me if I was ready to which I answered yes. It went well and I realised a dream.

My league debut? My legs were a bit shaky at the beginning but luckily I never felt too much pressure. Perhaps I felt most pressure in the Europa League as it was my professional debut even though there weren’t many people in the stadium unlike against Empoli where San Siro was full.

The Italian youth international then spoke on Mauro Icardi.

“I was inspired by Icardi because I trained together with him. You get to know him and you understand what kind of player he is. He is an exceptional guy and he helped me a lot in the first few months when I knew nobody. On the field he is a champion.”
