Pirelli CEO Marco Tronchetti Provera, spoke to ‘La Politica nel Pallone’ on Gr Parlamento and acquitted Mauro Icardi of any wrongdoing after he was present at the Bernabeu in Madrid to attend the final of the Copa Libertadores between River Plate & Boca Juniors.

“It is a Pardonable Sin. There were many other players present, it’s a world he’s a part of, but he’s a serious professional and his concentration on the pitch is not in question.”

Tronchetti Provera also talked  about transfer market targets ahead of the January window.

“Luka Modric would be an important reinforcement in a team that is close to being a great team. Lionel Messi? Those who do not dream about him do not love football, I dream of him as a football lover, he is once again having an extraordinary season, he is a unique phenomenon.”

Tronchetti Provera then spoke about the new Inter President Steven Zhang.

“What did I say to him? Nothing, he’s good, he knows that the team is not yet complete, he has passion and desire to win.” I asked Inter to give us strength and continuity, they are necessary to win important things and that makes the difference between a good team and a great team.

“I see a team that has potential but which needs a little more maturity. There are some players who are not giving their best at the moment, Ivan Perisic is a great player but he is not scoring, his contribution can be decisive. Joao Cancelo at Juve hurts a lot, his qualities were evident even when he was at Inter. Radja Nainggolan has had some physical problems, but he is a great champion, he has character, I hope he will soon come back to the level which everyone knows.”

He concluded by discussing the imminent arrival of Beppe Marotta.

“He is one of the most talented professionals in the football world. Those who are building the team up will have an important contribution from him, he is an excellent choice and the right purchase. The difference between Juventus and Inter is that one can always win and the other does not. Juventus has been built over many years, and they are very strong, this year is the strongest Juventus of the last decade, Inter had done very well in the first half and had the game in hand but couldn’t finish them off.”
