Piero Ausilio’s work as Inter sporting director is set to see him recognised with an award in the coming week according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

Ausilio is to be awarded the honour of being the best sporting director in Italy over the past year by the lawyers associations and the award will be presented to him next week at the Four Seasons hotel in Milan.

The report goes on to state that Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta will be present at the event although the report does not disclose if he will be doing so as part of Inter or not by the time the event takes place.

45-year-old Ausilio has a long standing relationship with the Nerazzurri which dates back to 1998. He firstly served the youth academy before being named as the club’s sporting director in 2010. This will not be the first time that Ausilio wins an award recognising the best sporting director either with him having won one previously for his efforts in the 2014/15 season.
