Inter Owe Inter Fans To Do Well In The Europa League

Inter may well now be out of the running to win the Champions League but they could now win the Europa League or at least should be aiming to for the fans sake according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

After early promise in the Champions League where Inter won their opening two games, a pattern in results that had guaranteed every club to achieve it passage to the knockout stage since the 2013/14 stage, Inter crashed out on the final day of the group stages having failed to better Tottenham Hotspur’s result against Barcelona in their game with PSV Eindhoven, a game which they were expected to win.

The team now have a moral obligation of sorts to tackle European football’s second-rate competition with the correct attitude and almost owe it to the fans who have supported them in huge numbers over the course of the season. Between the 10 home games played in all competitions this season, San Siro has been packed with an average attendance of 64,000.
