Erik Lamela has revealed he refrained from asking about the score in Inter’s match with PSV Eindhoven until after Spurs drew level against Barcelona, a scoreline that, come the full time whistle, would be enough to see them through to the last 16.

“I was focused only on our game, then when we scored I asked how the match being played in Milan was going, at which point we knew a draw was all we needed, luckily it was enough,” the Argentine said in an interview with Sky Sports.
