As part of an interview with Inter’s official club website, new Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta spoke on his pride at joining the Nerazzurri.
“I am happy and proud to be beginning a new professional challenge at a prestigious club such as Inter. President Steven Zhang has an ambitious project and I am looking forward to becoming an active part of that. I want to thank Chairman Zhang and the Suning Group for their trust in me and I am sure that together we will make Inter successful again.”
Since his largely unexpected exit from Juventus in recent months, Marotta has seemed destined to join the club and that was finally realised earlier on today. A vastly experienced director, Marotta will split the duties of chief executive with Alessandro Antonello and he will be focusing upon the sporting matters of the role such as dealing with the transfer market.
