Gazzetta dello Sport have published a list of faults they have seen from Inter manager Luciano Spalletti in recent weeks.
Firstly, his mentality management in Inter’s Champions League matches against Spurs and PSV Eindhoven. Inter played conservatively despite Spalletti suggesting they would play differently prior to each match. His decision to substitute attacker Matteo Politano for a defender in Sime Vrsaljko when Inter were needing to win against PSV is evidence of this. In addition to this, his decision to deploy Antonio Candreva centrally, in the midst of a midfield crisis, despite their being other options did not go down well.
The Milan based newspaper also hit out at Spalletti over his continued use of a poor performing Ivan Perisic, inability to allow the likes of Keita Balde and Lautaro Martinez regular playing time and then there is the Radja Nainggolan situation.
Spalletti specifically requested him with a view of replicating the great Nainggolan seen at Roma. The Belgian however has been plagued by injury since his arrival and his participation against Barcelona and Spurs was forced and has led to him being injured once again due to not being allowed to recover fully.
