Former Inter defender and club legend Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi has shared his thoughts on Inter’s performance against Udinese and focused specifically on the introduction of Lautaro Martinez from the bench.

“Against Udinese, Spalletti’s men have done very well. I was amazed at Spalletti’s decision to put Lautaro on for a midfielder when the game was at its most difficult for Inter when they were unable to recover the ball. However, with the extra attacker, they did better. It was a risky but effective move.”

Bergomi then commented on Mauro Icardi’s increased involvement in the build-up phase.

“Icardi has become a different player since the Juventus match. He is playing a lot more with the rest of the team.”
