Inter Vice-President Zanetti: “European Football Is Always Important”

Javier Zanetti has spoken on the Europa League after Inter have been drawn against Austrian side Rapid Wien.

“We must always play with the necessary concentration that a prestigious competition that the Europa League requires and come February we hope that the team is in great condition. European football is always important and our team can go all the way and win it. We hope that our previous meetings with Rapid act as a good omen but there are still lots of matches to reach the final though,” he told Inter TV.

Zanetti then went on to speak about the need for Inter to consistently perform.

“It is fundamental now that we give continuity to the results following the not so easy victory against Udinese after the disappointment against PSV. The coach and the team did a great job. Our head is now turned to the match against Chievo and it will not be an easy game as all Serie A matches are difficult but we are confident.”
