Thanks to the delicate care and attention from Inter manager Luciano Spalletti, Joao Mario has been reborn and has been almost like a completely new signing in recent weeks in the eyes of Tuttosport.
Just weeks ago few could have predicted the Portuguese’s upturn in form given he had been completely frozen out as a result of his comments with regard to Italian football and Inter over the summer.
Since his unexpected start against Lazio at the end of October, the 25-year-old midfielder has started in every league game since barring the 4-1 hammering from Atalanta. He has certainly made the most of the space afforded to him and has proved he can be an extra option for Spalletti to exploit.
All in all this season, the EURO 2016 champion has made a total of six appearances for a total of 423 minutes this season where he has contributed one goal and tallied three assists.
