Fiorentina full back Cristiano Biraghi has recalled how he came to joining Inter’s academy as a youngster.

“The first steps I took in football was with Carugate where there was an Inter football school then at the age of ten I joined the Nerazzurri youth academy. I had important masters like Pea, Manicone and De Paoli. The directors helped me to become an accountant, it is good to have a plan B,” he said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“My Primavera debut was a 4-1 victory. I played with the likes of Mattia Destro, Joel Obi and Davide Santon. It was a great joy. Maicon, and of course, Captain Zanetti were my reference points at the time. Today the strongest full backs in Serie A are Alex Sandro and Aleksander Kolarov.”

He then went on to address the rumoured interest from Inter and his Fiorentina future.

“A year ago Milan were interested and now Inter is. The rumours are pleasing for me but I am happy at Fiorentina, very well in fact. Am I close to a renewal? My agent deals with these things.”
