Inter face competition from Turkey for the signature of Arsenal star Mesut Ozil according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Gunners management are considering moving the German, who is of Turkish descent, on in the upcoming January transfer window on a loan basis with a view to selling him in the summer transfer window.

As per the report, Ozil, despite a wealth of interest from numerous top European clubs, could end up with Istanbul Basaksehir, who are currently seven points clear at the top of the Turkish Super Lig table.

The Turkish capital club’s president Göksel Gümüsdag has recently opened up to the idea of welcoming the 30-year-old and insisted in an interview with German newspaper BILD that “if he [Ozil] wants to come to us, we will do everything to get him.”

Ozil has been with Arsenal since 2013 and has made 15 appearances to date this season, scoring four goals and tallying two assists in the process.
