Despite being crowned as top scorer in the Brazilian league during his loan with Santos, it will not be enough for Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa to stay at Inter according to Corriere della Sera.
Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has always worked hard to find a transfer for him, first he was loaned to Benfica and then to Santos and he hopes to be able to sell him definitively in the upcoming transfer market.
Inter are believed to be speaking with West Ham who last year in January welcomed Joao Mario on loan. The English club feel the €20 Million requested by Inter is too high though and the risk that Gabigol on January 7th will return to the snowy fields of Appiano is high.
Gabigol cost the Nerazzurri €33 Million and therefore they cannot sell for less than €20 million otherwise face making a loss on him. One thing that seems certain is Gabriel Barbosa’s future lies away from San Siro and Inter.
