After the news from England, Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport relaunches the name of Mesut Özil as a possible signing for Inter.
In fact, according to English sources, the German international seems to be in a deadlock with his Premier League side Arsenal due to the fact that he seems to be outside of coach Unai Emery’s team given the low playing time he is getting at the moment. Therefore, a separation seems very likely at the moment.
“Arsenal lost to city rivals Tottenham Spurs two days ago and Özil saw the whole thing from the sidelines, meditating about his problems with Emery. After coming back from an injury everyone thought that his playing time would increase, but it did not. Arsenal would be willing to let him go for £25 million in the January transfer window. Inter is of course keeping an eye on the German, but the only path that would lead Özil to Milan is on a loan deal with the right of redemption. If that would happen, it would be the first blow of newly appointed Inter CEO Beppe Marotta but at the moment Inter is thinking about how to make such a deal happen while still respecting the Financial Fair Play rules.”
