Inter CEO Beppe Marotta stopped by Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia moments before kick-off between Inter and Napoli in the Serie A at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.

The Nerazzurri director was asked if Inter has the force left in them to defeat Napoli as well as how realistic it is for Inter to challenge Napoli for the second spot to which he replied: “I would say yes, we have the conviction and the motivation to do so and we will try until the end of the season.”

Let us start with the audio file concerning Radja Nainggolan where he expresses a desire to return to Roma. There is legal action being taken to protect his privacy but it seems like it really was him. What’s Inter’s stance on the matter?

“The press release from our press department released a few days ago includes both the decision and the motivation behind it. We took the manager’s advice, who by the way is the group’s leader and we decided to tackle the matter like so. We decided the dynamics of the case internally and it’s not appropriate to speak about them here. He has come to watch the match here tonight and this is a display of his attachment to the team.”

Will he be sold in the January transfer window?

“Absolutely not and I do not think that what has happened invalidates the decision to sign him in July. The team is a community, there are rights and duties and those who do wrong must pay for it. It is up to us to support it to make it better. The team is composed of professionals who are able to deal with negative aspects as a group. These situations always exist and we, the leadership, have been vigilant and consider the matter closed.”

What kind of a performance do you expect from Inter tonight?

“A positive one. This is the spirit of the squad and I am confident that we will have a good match.”
