Samir Handanovic spoke on the importance of Inter’s victory over Napoli at San Siro tonight.

Substitute Lautaro Martinez struck in the last few minutes of the game to secure Inter a narrow 1-0 win and most importantly all three points.

“Today it was essential for us to win in order to drive away all that was being said and winning in the 90th minutes gives us more enthusiasm,” the Slovenian shot stopper remarked in an interview with Inter TV.

“In football, moments change matches. After Koulibaly was given a red card we knew we had to risk something to win it and at the end we did.

“Now the match on Saturday [against Empoli] becomes even more important. San Siro is back to being a fortress. We hope it stays like this. It is always a joy to play here and the crowd always helps you give that little bit more.”

He concluded with a quick word on match-winner Lautaro.

“He was good, he is an extraordinary boy and I am happy for him.”
