Former Milan defender turned pundit Alessandro Costacurta commented on the two red card incidents in Inter vs Napoli last night.
Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly saw red after sarcastically clapping at referee Silvio Mazzoleni having been booked and this was the first situation Costacurta examined.
“The initial foul did not seem to be worthy of a yellow card but then there was his reaction. I believe that the many words spoken against Mazzoleni has loaded Koulibaly and that led him to the applause,” he said in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.
The second sending-off involved Napoli attacker Lorenzo Insigne who kicked out at Inter’s Keita Balde in the dying embers of the match.
“I think that was down to too much nervousness.”
