Andrea Mandorlini has given Inter’s Milan Skriniar and Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly high praise going so far as to say that the two centre back’s are among the best defenders in world football at the moment.

“Koulibaly is going through a period of great technical growth and I see him as superior to Skriniar, who represents the future but they are two of the best defenders in the world,” Mandorlini, who was a defender himself in his playing days, said in an interview with RMC Sport.

Mandorlini, who spent seven years on Inter’s books between 1984-1991, then proceeded to discuss the suspension of Radja Nainggolan, who was suspended for disciplinary reasons by the club and missed last night’s match as a result.

“In each team there are rules and with the arrival of Beppe Marotta they will be even stiffer. The choice to suspend him was the right choice because the rules must be respected.”
