Journalist Matteo Marani spoke on the events that unfolded outside San Siro last night prior to Inter’s 1-0 win over Napoli.
Inter and Napoli ultras clashed with four Napoli fans ending up stabbed and one Inter ultra – who has since succumbed to his injures – being run over by a van.
“The words of Milan’s chief of police Marcello Cardona are the strongest heard for a long time in this area. We are talking about a planned, squad-like, assault of one hundred people who blocked the road 2 km from the stadium to attack the supporters of Napoli,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“We are now mourning the death of a man but we have not talked about it extensively in the past few years because Inter-Napoli has been fighting these clashes for three years. The difference between Italy and the rest of Europe is unfortunately, that there is a security problem around the stadiums.”
