Empoli manager Giuseppe Iachini has urged his side to ‘grow quickly’ starting with Saturday’s match at home to Inter.
Heading in to the game the Azzurri have lost their past three games on the bounce shipping 10 goals in the process and have just one win in their last five matches.
“We always work with the idea of giving satisfaction to our fans. We have to grow quickly and improve in because it is essential for us to turn things round and get back on a positive track,” he said in an interview with Lady Radio.
Iachini is however under no illusion that his side will be in for an easy ride when Inter come to the Stadio Carlo Castellani.
“In Serie A if you fall a yardstick behind your opponents they will hurt you.”
Empoli could receive a slight boost from the fact Inter will be unable to count upon extra encouragement at the game. Due to the ugly events that marred Inter’s 1-0 win over Napoli on Wednesday night, Inter supporters have been prohibited from attending.
