Former Inter striker Bernardo Corradi has commented on Mauro Icardi’s recent change in play-style that has been witnessed in the past few weeks.

“He has done well, especially in the last few games, where he has worked with the team,” the 13-time Italian international, who more famously played for Chievo and Lazio, said in an interview with Canale 5 television show Pressing.

Corradi, who made just one appearance for Inter, then went on to speak about Lautaro Martinez and why he believes at this current moment, an Icardi-Martinez striking partnership in all likelihood would not work despite continued calls from fans and people in the media to see it happen.

“Lautaro is very young and still has to acquire certain types of movements,” Corradi explained. “He is an out and out striker and therefore when played together with Icardi he is stepping on his toes. At this moment Inter quite simply can not disregard their captain.”
