Nahitan Nandez, the Uruguyan midfielder of Boca Juniors who has been courted recently by both Inter and Cagliari, intends to continue his career in Argentina.

That’s at least according to his agent Pablo Betancourt, who spoke to Fox Sports.

Betancourt said: “Nandez wants to be a reference on the field for Boca, but he would also like to be rewarded economically.

“The decision is for the club, but we have made our terms clear. Cagliari have already sent us a written offer, but I am not looking to sell him.”

The player, who joined Boca from Penarol in 2017, has already spoken to the club new Director of Sport, Nicolas Burdisso about his situation.

“Yes, we spoke to Burdisso and he told us that he would have a discussion with President Angelici before we meet again,” Betancourt continued.

“Nahitan was clear – he does not want to leave. He joined this club on a trial, and he has since proven himself and his value.

“He knows there are players who do not play half as much as him who receive more. He is not making an astronomical request.”
